Julie Caroll, MSW, Research Associate
Julie is a clinician and research associate in the area of women's reproductive health. She has extensive experience providing counseling and case management services to women and girls in a variety of health settings. Julie served as research associate on the Smoking Cessation Among Pregnant and Postpartum Adolescents study, where she was responsible for data collection and coordination activities in the San Francisco East Bay area. Julie also works as a perinatal social worker for Kaiser Permanente, implementing the Early Start program for women and girls who are at risk of substance abuse during pregnancy. And at Alta Bates Medical Center, Julie is an on-call perinatal social worker in the intensive care nursery and post partum units.
As a clinical trial coordinator, Julie worked with Oxford Research International and the Population Council to determine the safety, efficacy and multiple uses of the drug Mifipristone (aka RU486). Julie was a contributing author on the article "Accuracy of assessment of pregnancy duration by women seeking early abortions" published in The Lancet, March 11, 2000. She has a MSW from the University of California, Berkeley.
