Brett Augspurger, Research Associate and Ford Foundation Research Intern

Brett Augspurger is a Research Associate and Ford Foundation Research Intern with PHI's Center for Research on Adolescent Health and Development. His current research focuses on parent support for condom education and availability in schools, and evaluating sexuality education curricula.

Augspurger has spent 10 years teaching sexuality education. He started his career as an undergraduate peer educator with Planned Parenthood of the Finger Lakes in New York. Inspired by his work with Planned Parenthood, Augspurger designed his own major at Ithaca College in Sexuality and Politics. From 2004 to 2009, he worked as a health educator and program coordinator teaching comprehensive sexuality education for Planned Parenthood Shasta-Pacific. He is currently in his final year of a master of public health in the maternal and child health program at the University of California, Berkeley.
