Alice X. Huang, Joint Medical Program Graduate Student Researcher

Alice is a medical student pursuing an MD/MS in the UC-Berkeley- UCSF Joint Medical Program (JMP). She is currently working as a graduate student researcher on the Evidence Use in the Sex Education Debates study. With undergraduate training in the cognitive sciences, health policy, and medical sociology from Rice University, her research interests include the role of ideology in shaping health policy and its application in developing more effective strategies toward reform. She currently works with the California Physicians' Alliance in single-payer universal healthcare advocacy. Her past research experience involves the role of social values in universal healthcare reform and analysis of the effectiveness of The Voting Rights Act. She currently is a delegate to the American Medical Association for the JMP.
